We like Deep Links

We publish our own original editorial at both www.NewEnglandBirdhouse.com and our blog.  We are interested in topics regarding custom birdhouses, backyard birding, New England, handcrafted artisan wares or Outdoor Living.  We want to promote other small businesses and websites that serve these categories.

Deep linking is creating a link to a specific page, article or image on another website, instead of that site’s home page, in an editorially relevant and meaningful way.   Deep links are content rich, contextually relevant links that are mutually beneficial to both websites.

Our primary tools for deep linking are the Targeted Article Exchange and Keyword Text Links.

Targeted Article Exchanges

Top-quality contextually relevant articles will boost both of our site’s search engine performance with fresh keywords, and draw targeted traffic to both our sites.  It’s a simple idea, I’ll post your article and you post mine.  Two writers on staff, for the cost of one.

Unlike traditional article exchanges, we only swap our original articles with one other website – limiting the effect of duplicate content on search engine performance.

To post our article at your site, here’s what we require:

  • An agreement to exchange articles or links
  • Articles must be placed in an editorially relevant environment.
  • All articles must carry New England Birdhouse byline and link.
  • Articles can be removed from the website with 48 hours notice.
  • Email me the name of the article that you are interested in, and I will provide a copy for posting.

To submit your article to New England Birdhouse, here’s what we require:

  • An agreement to exchange articles or links
  • Articles must be unique and original to the Author.
  • We like articles which have only been published at your site, and especially value articles that have been published less than 3 days prior to submission.
  • Article must be editorially relevant to one of our categories of interest:
    • Custom Birdhouses
    • Backyard Birding
    • Garden
    • Handcrafted
    • Workshop
    • Uniquely New England
  • All articles must carry a byline with the author’s name, title and/or website and hyperlinked url.  (eg.   “by Joseph Wyatt, Owner and Artisan – Wyatt Baskets, (this article was reprinted with permission from wyattbaskets.com).”
  • Each article should carry no more than 3 keyword hyperlinks, and they must link to a page within the author’s webpage.  These links should be selected for their editorial relevancy to the article, and provide more meaning to the article.
  • Including images along with the article is highly recommended.  Images must be copyright free and available for use at New England Birdhouse.  Images can be hyperlinked and count towards the three link maximum.
  • Articles can be removed from the website with 48 hours notice.
  • Email me to discuss an article submission.

Keyword Text Links

If you have a product or information that will enhance one of our posted original articles, we will allow up to three keywords or phrases to be hyperlinked in one of our articles, to your site.  These links will open in a new window.  In return, we’d appreciate the opportunity to link to article keywords at your site as well. Email me to discuss a keyword text link swap.

Please Post Your Comments or Experiences

Welcome

The New England Birdhouse Blog features original articles, videos and how-to guides about backyard birding, bird watching, building bird feeders and bird houses, gardening, and New England living.

I frequently post about a variety of topics including creating wildlife-attracting backyards, planning a New England leaf peeping bird watching trip, identifying common backyard birds, and plans and instructions for building simple and effective bird feeders and bird houses.

Also, please consider visiting our store for fine architectural bird houses and bird feeders, great backyard birding items, and custom handcrafted artisan wares.

I hope you find our articles helpful and useful. Please share your thoughts and experiences by posting your comments (located at the end of each article). If you have any questions or comments, please email me. Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back often.
